Ball studs
Clamping tools can be used to produce parts with an undercut geometry, such as ball studs, without re-machining and are therefore more cost-effective to manufacture than turned parts
- gooseneck can be produced without reworking
- alignment of the structure along the material flow (fiber flow/orientation)
- higher durability compared to machined parts (load direction!)
- generally parts with undercut can be produced without machining reworking (within limits)
Advantages
- finished formed parts without re-machining, friction welding or similar, as well as a favorable stress curve with notch effect
- production possible in proven low and high-alloy steels, aluminum and copper
- the elimination of secondary machining increases material utilization and contributes significantly to material- and energy-efficient production by saving operations
